The urge to reach out himself to investigate was a difficult one to quash. They may have made their amends, and the truth was now out - for the both of them to appreciate and he imagined that by now Sasuke would have had time to think over and process that truth.

Whatever conclusion he had drawn seemed to be far more positive than the last time they'd bumped into one another, and perhaps it was a step forward but he didn't think there was anything that would ever bring them as close to one another as they had been. It was a selfish notion anyway.

"Are you the only one?" He asked quietly, instead. Watching Sasuke intently with what he could make out of him - the dark didn't help.
